Okpebholo, Idahosa take oath of office as governor, deputy
Edo State has commenced a new era of governance as the newly elected governor, Monday Okpebholo has been sworn in.
He takes over from Godwin Obaseki after eight years in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in his second term of office.
Senator Monday Okpebholo was administered the oath of office alongside his Deputy Idahosa on Monday.
They both took oath of office at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium, Benin City.
The Chief Justice of the State, Daniel Okungbowa, administered the oath on the Governor and his Deputy, while they both pledged to uphold the constitution and work for the well-being of the people of Edo State.”
Dignitaries including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Chairman of the Governors’ Forum, Philip Shaibu, the reinstated deputy governor of Edo, and other governors from the APC were in attendance as Okpebholo took the oath of office.
