The event, held on Saturday at the Hybrid Glisten International Academy in Abuja, marks the nation’s participation in the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship.

The Minister said the opportunity represents a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s tech innovation, attracting key industry experts, business partners, and supporters eager to witness the progress of the country’s youth in robotics.

The Minister, represented by Chief Obinna Nwaka, the Director General of the Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS), highlighted that students from Glisten International Academy, who will be representing Nigeria at the global competition in Dallas, Texas, are poised to make the country proud. The championship will take place from May 6th to 14th, 2025.

Addressing the attendees, the Minister commended both the organizers and the school management for their relentless efforts in fostering innovation among young Nigerians. He also emphasized the government’s commitment to creating programs and initiatives that provide the necessary support and encouragement to nurture the reasoning abilities and technological skills of the youth.

“This is a proud moment for Nigeria, and we look forward to seeing the students from Glisten shine at the VEX Robotics World Championship. Their participation is a testament to the bright future ahead for our country in the tech sector,” he said.

The unveiling ceremony brought together stakeholders from the tech, business, and educational sectors, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in advancing youth-driven innovation. As Team Nigeria prepares for the global stage, their efforts are being recognized as a significant step toward promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and empowering the next generation of leaders.
