Wike Commissions NAHARATI Rivers Ukya road, bridges in Abaji

Minister of FCT, Ezenwa Nyelson Wike has commissioned NAHARATI Rivers Ukya Access road with three tier bridges in Abaji Council Area in FCT.
Amidsts the crowd and personalities that gathered at the commissioning of the satellite road project in Abaji, Bar. Wike assured it was a promise made in January 2024 and promise now fulfilled to the people in January, 2025.
FCT Minister overwhelmed by the support from the people and leaders of the Area Council, re-assured them that FCT University of Technology Abaji is being upgraded with infrastructures, while two additional divisional police stations also promised will be delivered shortly to the community, to strengthen security for the council area.
Wike said, “we did promised you, we were going to provide infrastructures at the FCT University of Science and Technology, Abaji, as we speak now, constructions are ongoing at the University. I did tell, whatever we agree, just go and rest, we shall fulfill it”.
“I have told everybody who cares, that while we are developing the city center, we will also be developing the satellite communities”.
While expressing gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for a rear opportunity for him and his minister of State to serve under him, he assured of continuous project development in Abaji as an acknowledgement of their support for President Tinubu administration.
The Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud in her vote of thank, noted that while urban Development takes the center stage, it’s imperative, we cannot overlook the need of rural communities.
The road project she said connects rural communities to markets and essential services, adding, “it enhances productivity, creates employment opportunities and stimulates local communitites and the economy”.
Chairman Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils and Auxillary Services, Senator James Jimkuta commended the Minister Wike of living to expectation of the people of FCT and the National Assembly, promising, they will support and encourage him in his budgetary requests.
“Developing the satellite towns is a global practice the world Bank practices and I believe before the second quarters of this year, the World Bank would come partnering with you because, Satellite towns is part of their initiatives”.
The Abaji Area Council Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi applauded the infrastructures development effort of FCT Minister, underscoring the socioeconomic importance of the FCT University and the 5 km NAHARATI Rivers Ukya Access road to the people of Abaji and FCT Council Areas, other road users on Abuja- Lokoja highway and Nigerians in general.
“It is an understatement to say, HE Minister Wike shows passion and zeal towards the completion of FCT University of Science and Technology, a clear indication he recently approved the establishment of additional police stations at Yaba and Gawu to combating insecurity facing the Abaji as council Area”.
Hon. Abdullahi leveraged the minister’s present to outline his achievements overtime which includes, construction of 80 – bed spaced hospital, 750 Capacity Ultra Modern ICT Center in Abaji, Training of 300 residents in various Vocational Skills, partnering FCT/NDE, and completed Four weeks Empowerment Training program for Sixty five youth on Micro Production of Banana and Plantain, as the graduands will be given N 100,000 each as take-off grant to start their own production to bridge food insecurity in the area.
