Udende youth digital skill training: Participants get start-up kits
As part of his efforts to empower his senatorial district and uplift people out of poverty, Senator Emmanuel Udende has offered start-up training kits for the youths.
The start-up training kits includes, laptops and cash support to start digital marketing.
The development follows days of intensive Digital Skills Training Project for Youth in Benue North East, at Fidei Polytechnic Gboko and sponsored by Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende, Benue North East (APC) and Senate Committee Chairman on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on media Mr.Jerry Iorngaem, the lawmaker charged the youths to apply the knowledge gained during the training and make judicious use of the kits and cash to attain self-dependence and become wealth creators for the good of the senatorial zone, Benue state and Nigeria in general.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Tsumbu Terwase, the lawmaker thanked the National Productivity Centre for making the training possible just as he appreciated the lead consultant and facilitators for taking the participants through the entire gamut of the training exercise.
In her remarks, the Benue State Coordinator, National Productivity Centre, Aladi Achimugwu, noted that digital skills are important in today’s world irrespective of whether one is working in an organisation or for self.
“It’s not enough to get capacity; you must be productive as productivity is an attitude of the mind. Don’t relax because the world is continuously changing,” the state coordinator advised.
Also speaking ,the Project Manager/Lead Consultant, Dr Tim Aikor said the trainees had gained knowledge and set to hit the ground running .
Commending the facilitators for doing “a thorough job,” Dr. Aikor said there will be follow up mechanism to ascertain the level of progress made by the beneficiaries and urged them to immediately begin putting the knowledge gained to use.
In his goodwill message the lawmaker representing Ukum at the Benue state House of Assembly Hon. Engr. Ezra Nyiyongo thanked Senator Udende for bringing the opportunity to Benue North East youth, notes that the cash support and laptops are meant to enable the youth start off immediately.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Comr Vanger Saameer Titus (young men) and Jacintha Terdoo Akaahan (young ladies), both appreciate Senator Udende for the opportunity, noting that they will apply the knowledge gained to improving on their economic status.
Both Vanger and Jacintha prayed God to bless Senator Udende to bring more people oriented projects to Zone A.
