Through huge natural gas, we will alleviate energy poverty – NNPC
The Chief Upstream Investment Officer of the National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Bala Wunti said the company will leverage Nigeria’s natural gas resources to alleviate energy poverty in the country.
He stated this in Houston, United States of America recently, adding that the company was encouraging investment in gas production exerting energy on fresh drive to maximize potentials of the resources.
According to him through the utilization of natural gas, citizens will have access to clean and affordable as well as reliable energy that will scale up energy security and poverty alleviation.
Wunti asserted that with the NNPCL, undergoing a restructuring transitioning from a government corporation into a private company the organization is poised to accelerate investment and development across the Nigerian gas industry.
The NNPC will leverage the quality of its resources, geographic advantage and years of industry experience to transition from energy deficiency to sufficiency, all while supporting the global push for sustainable energy, he said.
