Suspended Bauchi Senator Ningi resumes plenary after recall
Following his recall from suspension, Senator representing Bauchi Central Abudul Ahmed Ningi resumed on Tuesday, thus spending 75 out of 90 days slammed on him by the Senate.
He was suspended on March 12, 2024, over allegation of the 2024 budget padding against the Senator Godswill Akpabio-led Senate
His recall on Tuesday last week followed a motion sponsored by Senator Abba Moro representing Benue South Senatorial District and Minority Leader of the Senate which he said, the embattled Ningi should be recalled without condition having spent substantial part of his punishment.
Ningi’s trouble started with a press interview he granted the BBC Hausa in Bauchi, alleging budget padding.
Apparently elated to be back in the Senate, Senator Ningi was among the first set of Senators and House of Representatives members to arrive the National Assembly for plenary amid Labour strike earlier on Tuesday.
Senator Ningi was sighted with opposition Senators who DAILY POST was told that they came through the villa gate to the National Assembly complex.
The opposition lawmakers, Suleiman Kawu from Kano, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal from Bauchi and few others were sighted clustered around Ningi at 10: 40, 20 minutes to the commencement of plenary.
