Senator Marafa mentees to feed 10,000 less privileges to mark 64th birthday
Mentees of the former Senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, Kabiru Garba Marafa have disclosed that they will feed over 10,000 less privilege individuals in Zamfara to mark their mentor’s 64th birthday on Monday, 16th September, 2024.
Operating under the aegis of the Marafa Mentorship Forum, MMF, with Dr Mikailu Barau and Barrister Abubakar Gajam, as Chairman and Secretary, respectively, the mentees said the less privileged persons would be fed at the Food Palace, Lalan, Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital.
In a statement by Dr. Mikailu Barau made available to CAPITAL POST on Sunday, he said, they are a group of professionals who were supported with high-value jobs and study opportunities by the former lawmaker in the upper legislative Chamber of the National Assembly.
The group also stated that a student loan support centre will be commissioned as part of activities to honour Marafa to ensure that students from Zamfara State take good advantage of the National Education Loan Fund, NELFUND.
Extolling the virtues of Marafa, the group noted that a symposium on “Zamfara: The Nexus of Youths Empowerment, Stability and Development”, will be featured.
The statement said: ” Because he doesn’t want his birthday celebrated, we have decided to mark it in this way, which he cherishes the most – feeding the power. This is why we are feeding 10,000 less privileged persons on Monday to celebrate his 64th birthday”.
Born on 16th September 1960, Senator Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central Senatorial District between 2011 and 2019, was a leading and founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State.
