Sallah: Nasarawa Assembly Majority leader’s wife donates N3 million to orphans
As part of efforts to cushion economic hardship affecting many households, wife of Major leader of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hajiya Basira Tanko Tunga, has distributed 1,500 wrappers, 1,500 trousers and shirts worth N3 million to women and orphans in Awe North constituency to enable them celebrate sallah.
While distributing the items, Hajiya Basira Tunga called on the beneficiaries to make use of the items for the purpose for which there were meant for.
“This is part of my continuous support to my husband’s commitment towards improving the wellbeing of people of this constituency.
“I want to assure you of our continued commitment to initiate good policies and programmes that will improve on your standard of living”, she said.
“Let me also use this platform to appeal to all of you to continue to render support to my husband for him to achieve more constituency project aimed at boosting the lives of our people.
Hajiya Basira Tunga urged all and sundry to massively support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed beyond 2023, just as she charged them to be law abiding citizens and embrace peace, unity, oneness and togetherness for the state to exceed all expectations.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed happiness with the gesture and prayed God to reward her and the husband abundantly, promising to continue to give them the needed support to succeed.
