Plateau attack: Military to meet with Mangu CAN chairman, Daluk over viral video outburst
The Defence Headquarters says it will meet with Timothy Daluk, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State over a viral video.
This is in response to Daluk’s recent accusations against the Nigerian military, alleging their involvement in the killings of Christians and property destruction within the state.
In a widely circulated video, Daluk passionately reported on the situation in Mangu Local Government, asserting that the military was responsible for displacing Christians, allowing militias to burn their homes.
He said that at the present moment, every Christian had been forced away from the new market, leaving Muslims vulnerable to house burnings.
Reacting, Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that the Defence Headquarters is in the process of reaching out to Rev Timothy Daluk to substantiate his claims. He emphasized the potential impact of emotional responses in the face of traumatic experiences.
“A thorough investigation would be conducted after an audience with Daluk”, Buba noted.
He reiterated the military’s commitment to discharging duties professionally and adhering to the highest international standards.
