Over 1000 hoodlums loyal to governor Ganduje storms Senator Barau’s campaign office set it ablaze in Kano
Over one thousand hoodlums loyal to the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Wednesday night stormed the campaign office of Senator Jibrin Barau and set it on fire.
Senator Barau representing Kano North Senatorial district and the Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation is a 2023 governorship hopeful, an ambition that has brought at cross purposes with the governor.
The campaign office which is located at
on Maiduguri road and owned by Alhaji Musa Gwadabe, a former Labour and Productivity Minister, was completely razed down.
After the attack, the hoodlums were said to have proceeded to Gyadi Gyadi quarters, where the Ahmadu Zago factional All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman confirmed by the Abuja High Court was set to open his state party secretariat.
A source told CAPITAL POST that Barau was not in Kano when the incident happened.
The lawmaker was said to have lamented the situation, saying, “they have burnt down my campaign office, what sort of politics is this, that a whole campaign office could be burnt down?”.
The State Police Commissioner, Ismaila Dikko, confirmed the incident, saying his me have taken over the area for assessment.
