It remains to be known if leaked sex escapade of celebrities are deliberate to advance their popularity and fame given the social media frenzy usually attached, but without doubt, the songwriter and singer whose stage name is Oxlade has been in the public for something else.

This week, the sex video of him leaked and went viral with tons of reactions from fans and the like.

Change of Name

Some fans reacted angrily with others throwing tantrums.

CAPITAL POST observed that the leaked sex tape is coming in less than three months that Tiwa Savage’s sex video went online with more than commensurate fans’ outpouring of ridicule and backlash.

These celebrities are highly regarded by their fans across the world.

Entertainers and Actors are generally believed to be promiscuous and morally bankrupt to the extent that sex for role is a notorious phenomenon in the Nollywood industry.

The embarrassing sex video of Oxlade which went viral this week is another moral challenge that didn’t only cause divided opinions among those who care to discuss and write on social media, but further portray entertainment industry as “careers of Sodom and Gomorrah”, given that Oxlade is the third in less than three months.

It’s unfortunate that the regulatory Agency in Nigeria does have laws to sanction sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry as it were, even as porn stars are daily raised.

The adverse effect, unfortunately, which the Nigerian government is looking the other way is ‘damaged reputation’ of one of the most populous black nation in the world.

It’s therefore, trite for the National Assembly to rise to the occasion of amending the National Film and Video Censors Board and provide stiff sanction for sex maniacs who are demonising the society by entrenching the “evil spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah’.

The recording of sexual affairs and letting it online under any guise or for any reason should be a punishable offence in Nigeria. The society is evolving and extant laws must be put in place and dynamic enough to catch up with the time.

The National Film and Video Censors board must subject actors and actresses and music entertainers to drug test and other psychotropic examination in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency; to determine their fitness or otherwise.
