North Central Development Commission would spread development – Senator Moro

Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro has expresded optimism the North Central Development Commission would spread infrastructural development within the zone having been signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The lawmaker who expressed delight in the aftermath of the assent to the bill by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday at the presidential villa noted that the Federal government cannot be every place at the same time, but through agencies of development, it will, hence, with this development, the yearnings of the people would be met.
Speaking with journalist in his office at the National Assembly on Tuesday, the Senator stated that” I’m very happy and excited, and I feel very fulfilled at this moment in time”.
He felt elated because the Commission’s emphasis and focus was all about spreading development
The Senator further expressed his gratitude, saying “North Central Zone, and we are grateful to Mr. President. We’re grateful to the Senate, the 10th Senate under the leadership of Senator Godswill Akpabio, We’re grateful to everybody that has made it possible for today to come true”.
Senator Moro urged Mr. President to provide the necessary needs for the North Central Development Commission, that will enable the commission to spread the development to the grassroots.
“We expect that very eminent persons from North Central zones and Nigeria will be appointed into this Commission to ensure that full realization of the designs of the Commission. We want development to spread across the zone and Nigeria”.
Reacting to the question of the kind of leadership that is expected to lead the Commission, Senator Moro maintained that the leadership that will bring development to all people in the zone and across Nigeria”
While thanking Mr. President he also pleaded that the second bill which is Federal College of Agricultural Technology in Okafor will be considered for his assent.
Senator out line the urgent need of the North Central Zone as insecurity and kidnapping, devastation by the activities of herdsmen and farmers, clashes and others that thrown the people of the zone today in to IDPs camp should first address.
“The question here is how do North Central return these people to their ancestral homes? How do we make life meaningful to these people? How do we ensure that these people return to their homes and continue in their productive lives. That is what this commission is all about. And therefore we expect focusing on North Central Zone”.
Reacting to where would be the headquarter of the Commission? Moro said that because the bill was just accented to by Mr. President today and in our subsequent meeting that will be discuss.
