Nasarawa Governor Sule reshuffles cabinet, to reposition State for 2027

In a bold sweeping changes, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has sacked all his Commissioners and cabinet members.

The Secretary to Nasarawa State Government, SSG,
Barrister Muhammad Aliyu-Ubamdoma was among those fired fromservice.

Change of Name

Thenreshufflement came after the visit and departure of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.

Shettima was on day working visit to Nasarawa State, where he commissioned several projects constructed the Abdullahi Sule-led administration.

It was gathered from a close source in Lafia that Sule dissolved the entire cabinet to rejig his administration ahead of 2027, recalling that some officials, though made it to the cabinet betrayed the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in 2023 general election.

Another source ruled out any suspicion and ill feelings saying: “although the exact reasons for the dissolution were not yet clear,” Governor Sule was known for restructuring the state’s administration.

“As the situation unfolds, citizens of Nasarawa State await further clarification on the implications of this decision and the future direction of the state’s administration”.

The news of cabinet reshuffle was contained in an official statement by the Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs and Special Services, MohammedIliyasu-Idde.

The statement explained that “All the outgoing council members are to hand over the affairs of their ministries and government property in their possession to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries while the SSG is to hand over to the permanent secretary cabinet affairs and special services.”

CAPITAL POST recalled that the Nasarawa State House of Assembly screened and approved 17 commissioner-nominees in July 2023 forwarded to it by the State Governor.
