Nasarawa governor, Sule mourns COAS, Attahiru, others

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has expressed sadness over the loss of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers of the Nigerian military in a plane crash.

The tragic occurrence at a time government at all levels, the armed forces and other security apparatus are stepping up efforts to solve the country’s many challenges is most unfortunate.

This was contained in a statement signed by Governor Abdullahi Sule, copy of which was made available to newsmen in Lafia.

“My encounter with late General Attahiru in the course of our collective efforts at tackling insecurity showed a remarkable officer dedicated to the service of Nigeria.

He prayed to Allah that in his merciful ways will grant his soul and those of his colleagues rest.

“We condole the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari, the Chief of Defence Staff, the military, family and the friends of the departed officers. The statement continued.

We pray God give their families the courage to bear this painful loss.
