Man Utd made contact to sign £41.5m versatile player – Report
Manchester United are going through a difficult time currently, with the team struggling to get a result on the pitch.
Ever since the Manchester derby, Amorim’s side have really struggled, unable to score goals but conceding goals at an alarming rate.
The January transfer window, which is now open, gives the Portuguese tactician a chance to work with the squad and reinforce the quality. That is the only way the club can even hope of reviving what has been an abysmal season.
It is very difficult for Man Utd to make signings this window though, without making sales. The club had a summer window of huge investment and not every signing they made has really worked out as they would have anticipated.
Now, as per Team Talk, Man Utd have made contact to sign Italian midfielder, Davide Frattesi, from Inter Milan. The 25-year-old is a central midfielder but has hardly been a starter for the defending champions so far this season.
Frattesi has made only 4 starts for Inter but that said, he has had appearances off the bench.
He has also been capped 25 times at the highest level, even netting eight goals for his national team. He is still young enough to make another blockbuster move.
Capable of playing both as an attacking midfielder and central midfielder, Frattesi might be able to add some steel to the Man Utd midfield with his versatility.
However, there isn’t any clarity on whether his skillset would be any different to that of Kobbie Mainoo.
Valued at around £41.5m, signing Davide Frattesi should ideally not be a priority for Man Utd. Let’s wait and see how things play out this month and what the club thinks about signing this particular player.
