Late Dr Alex Kadiri: Senator Isah mourns, says he left political legacy in Kogi East
Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District, Jibrin Isah Echocho on Friday mourned late Dr Alex Usman Kadiri who passed away at the age of 82 at a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness on Thursday.
He said, the elder statesman was a dedicated public servant who attained the zenith of his career and was also a politician of no mean standing who recorded significant milestones as Senator when he served from 1999 – 2007.
This was contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday, recalling that the politician was a pillar of support to his community, Odu in Dekina Local Government Council in Kogi State.
The statement reads, “I received the sad news of the death of former Senator Alex Usman Kadiri with a heavy heart.
“Senator Alex Usman Kadiri was a committed leader, a dedicated politician and public servant who contributed immensely to the development of Kogi East senatorial district.
Echcho reiterated his deepest sympathies adding that he stands in solidarity with the deceased family, the good people of Odu, and Kogi State as they mourn the loss of an elder statesman.
The lawmaker prayed for the repose of the soul of Senator Alex Kadiri and for God to grant the family and his loved ones solace to bear this irreparable loss at this trying time, he concluded.
