Kebbi Senator pledges commitment to rehabilitation of school in Niger

Senator Muhammed Abubakar Maidoki, representing Kebbi South, has made commitment to contribute his part to the rehabilitation and revitalization of Government Secondary School Rijau in Niger State, aiming to improve the standard of education in the area.

The senator made this pledge at the maiden meeting of the Rijau Old Students Association,(RIJOSA), held in Minna, the capital of Niger State.

Change of Name

Senator Maidoki expressed concern over the severe deterioration of the school’s infrastructure and teaching materials, noting that such conditions could hinder efforts to create a conducive learning environment.

As an alumnus of the school, he vowed to support initiatives to bring the school up to national education standards.

In an interview with journalists, Senator Maidoki also addressed the recent series of national grid failures in northern Nigeria, which occurred multiple times within a single month.

He emphasized that while power issues are pressing, the primary challenge affecting the North’s well-being is insecurity, which has severely impacted the social and economic lives of its residents.

Maidoki underscored that addressing security concerns should be a priority, as no meaningful development can be achieved in an environment where security is compromised.

He added that the Senate Committee on Power is currently conducting oversight visits to investigate the frequent grid failures and will work to offer a long-term solution to prevent further disruptions to power in the region.

Speaking further, Senator Maidoki expressed concern on the increasing Proportion of Insecurity in the North Western States calling on the relevant security forces to be proactive in curtailing the trends.

Assuring that the 10th Senate, is committed in ensuring the safety of the citizens from the incessant activities of armed bandits that have hitherto bedeviling the North Western States.

” We in the Senate are concerned with the security Challenges in our States Particularly the activities of armed bandits.

“A situation that you don’t feel safe while traveling on our highways for fear of the activities of armed bandits is a serious concerns to us” he asserted

Senator Maidoki further assured that the Senate will continue to put the interest of Nigerians above any other Interest that will better the well-being of the people through the needed legislature that would impact positively on their lives.

” We have a duty as the representative of the people of Nigerians to give them the needed representation that will have direct bearing on their lives” he assured.

He expressed confidence in the 10th Senate’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional duties and ensuring economic improvements for all Nigerians.

Senator Maidoki urged Nigerians to remain optimistic, assuring them that positive changes are on the horizon.

During the meeting, a committee for the rehabilitation of Government Secondary School Rijau was inaugurated, with Alhaji Isah Nasidi Rijau, Chairman of the Niger State Local Government Service Commission, appointed as the committee chair.
