Kebbi: Gov. Idris mourns Chief Imam of Gwandu
The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir idris Kauran Gwandu has condoled with the Director of Finance Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Alhaji Sanusi Umar-Gwandu over the demise of his father, late Umar Gwandu, who is the Chief Imam of Gwandu town.
Condoling the family, the governor described the passing away of late Umar Gwandu as a great loss not only to the state people of Gwandu Emirate but also to the state and the country at large considering his contributions to socio-economic development of the state.
Gov. Idris, who prayed for the reposed soul of the deceased, urged the family members to be courageous to bear the irreparable loss.
Responding on behalf of the family, the Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar-Waziri, expressed appreciation to the governor for the condolence visit.
He appreciated the governor for the concern and love he has been showing to the family and prayed Allah to reward him abundantly.
Special prayers were offered for the late Chief Imam.
On the governor’s entourage were; Secretary to the State Government (SSG ), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida alongside other top government functionaries.
Aged 98 years, Umar Gwandu survived by one wife, eight children and many grandchildren.
He has since been buried according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Gwandu.
