Caretaker executive of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State have been inaugurated on Friday.
In a statement by the media team of the Committee which was made available to CAPITAL POST in Abuja said, the exercise covered the 27 Local Government Areas in the State.
The inauguration followed the expiration of the tenure of the former executive.
The statement noted that the National headquarters of PDP earlier sent to the State list of those that forms the Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the party pending when elections would be conducted for the substantive executive to be put in place.
The State Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Hon. Umar Mungadi promised a smooth administration of the party across the State pending when congresses would be held for election of executive in the 27 local government areas.
He stressed that the inauguration followed a consultation with stakeholders of the party, which enabled him to arrive at five persons per Local Government in Jigawa State.
He further explained that the constitutional provisions of the party to select grassroot members as LG Caretaker Committee was taken into consideration, since the State committee was made up of people from outside Jigawa.
While presenting letters of appointment to them, Hon Umar Mungadi urged the newly appointed members to work as a team for the success of the party in 2023.
“The mission of the State caretaker Committee is essentially to oversee the conduct and smooth running of PDP in Jigawa State.
“The time frame of the committee
constitutionally would not exceed three months”, he said.
