Governor Alia needs no reminder on tenets of mandate and fulfilment to Benue people

I have just read a misleading post by Mr. Terence Kuanum, the supposed Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the SGF, and widely circulated by members of the PDP including Mr. Bemgna Iortyom ,David Mzer and co. The said post touches on pertinent issues that bother on the integrity, sincerity of purpose and uncompromising commitment of Governor Alia in delivering on the tenets of his mandate to the people of Benue State,vested in the spirit of good conscience.

Three issues have necessitated out response of clarifications to some of misleading analogies contained in the post by Mr. Terence Kuanum and others.

While we wish to state that the serial connecting of statements of lies against Governor Hyacinth Alia by Mr. Kuanum and co, with regards to the person and office of the SGF is not only unfortunate but a desperately nauseating attempt to drag the name, person and office of Rev. Fr. Alia into the frivolities of opposition.

For the records of correction, we wish to inform Nigerians and the Benue people that the press release by the SGF media team against Governor Alia is nothing but a figment of their desperate imaginations to mislead gullible and unsuspecting Nigerians.

First, let it be noted that Governor Hyacinth Alia has NEVER in private or public referred to Senator Dr. George Akume ,CON,FNIM,SGF with insults or derogation. Governor Hyacinth Alia is well cultured in the tradition of Tiv, western civilization and in his calling as a Priest of the Roman Catholic Church, where the SGF and Governor Alia are both Knights. It is therefore, spurious and unfortunate for the media team of the SGF to embark on this intentional blackmail and spread of lies against Governor Alia, in what they deceptively and ironically described as an outing of “de-escalation of tension”!!

Secondly, the presentation by the media team of the SGF as though the SGF’s role in Benue State is to monitor the activities of Governor Alia or perhaps income and expenditure of the Government of His Excellency can least go for any serious consideration by the well meaning people of Benue State, who in all their encompassing ramifications have absolute confidence, trust, satisfaction and players in the Alia Administration in Benue State.

The Alia Administration is cocooned within the fabrics of Governor Alia’s absolute consciousness of the yearnings and aspirations of the Benue people, which all necessitated his Godly inspiration and decision to delve into the political arena to effect the correct balance of governance, based on God’s love and care for humanity. Governor Hyacinth Alia’s Administration of one year and eights old so far can go for the eight years of each of the successive civilian governors in Benue State since 1999. This distinguishable quality of the Alia Administration is roundly and squarely predicated on his Administration’s strict adherence to due process, fiscal discipline, feedback communication, accountability and transparency in government. The self consciousness of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s good leadership are more of a derivation of his parental upbringing and Godly endeavour. It needs no Gadfly!!

Thirdly, without prolonged contradictions, let it be stated that the worry of Governor Hyacinth Alia about the association of the SGF and the Samuel Ortom is not about Governor Hyacinth Alia as a person. It is about what the good people of Benue State feel. In this regard, the good people of Benue State are worried about the SGF associating with an immediate past PDP Governor (Ortom) in the state who intentionally left hydra headed burdens of failures and underdevelopment crises in the state for the Alia Administration to inherit. Regardless, Governor Alia took up the challenges head on and doing everything possible to put smiles on the faces of the masses.

What is however, unacceptable and regrettable is the fact that SGF who was at different times a victim of the iniquities of Samuel Ortom’s leadership would turn around and start fraternizing, and be allowed through his association with the SGF to speak ill of the Alia Administration, and his person. In all sense of it, what will the Benue people say or imagine, if Governor Alia today goes to bring Samuel
Ortom close to his administration because of SGF??

Finally, the SGF whom I served as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, gave me every reasons to never trust Samuel Ortom, politically. Indeed, after the 2019 elections, while we were in opposition in Benue State, I led the media team on behalf of the SGF, then as Honourable Minister to wrestle down the PDP led government of Samuel Ortom in Benue, wherein my beloved Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia graciously elections and over the mantle of leadership in APC in 2023. Up to this point, I have not been convinced otherwise by the SGF to believe in Ortom!! Talkless of when I am now working as the Special Adviser to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia. Without even been told by Governor Alia,I know that Samuel Ortom is still someone that should NOT be trusted politically. “ That thing na bad market “!!
