Ex-President of NFF, Sani Lulu Abdullahi calls on Igala people to champion peace in Nigeria
Former President of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Sani Lulu Abdullahi has called on the Igala nation to champion peace in Nigeria, saying that they are known to be the most peaceful tribe in the country and around the world.
He said, the Igala people are strategic in mainstreaming peace given their nature as peaceful people, which other Nigerians and the entire society have come to know, and as a result, every one including government, private citizens, Chief Executive Officers and other personalities want to engage and do businesses with Igala people.
Lulu, who is a titled Chief as “Oma Chi Ata of Igala Kingdom”, stated this when he chaired the interactive session organized by the Igala Traditional Chiefs Forum in FCT and its environs in Abuja on Saturday.
The ex-NFF President said: “There is no society that want to progress without peace and unity in the environment. I know Igala people are very conscious of this and I know we are disciplined in pursuing this cause and people who want to serve God, we will do better than what we are doing.”
Sani Lulu urges the Igala people to give themselves to learning, saying that education is not only when they go to school, but exposing themselves through interaction with other people in the society and get those things clearly articulated and addressed.
Speaking on his harrowing experience in hands of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, he said, when EFCC called, they said, “you have plenty money while as civil, as public officer you have this money and they said, you money is too much.
“I said, you and check from 1981 as a small boy in FCT. We are the pioneers in FCT and as a mall boy here, I did have anything, but God made relevant in the midst of elders in the society. In Garki II, the first building there was built by Sani Lulu, owned by Sani Lulu.
“It is not that I am a rich man, but there is nothing that I asked God that God does not give to me. I am not rich, but no rich man can say he is richer than me because before God I am a fulfilled man and I am contented with the little, people think I have. It is an opportunity because I go out of my house and everybody want to bless me and that is why we are where we are.
He called on Igala people to be united and pursue peace wherever they may be, stressing that the people are striving to be one of the best in the world, which he said, was possible.
The Igala Traditional Chiefs Forum of FCT, Abuja, honoured Senator Ireti Kingibe with an award of recognition for her exemplary leadership and impactful representation at the National Assembly.
The event took place at the palace of the overall chief of the Igala community FCT, His Royal Highness, Chief James Alabi Okai.
During the presentation, Chief James Alabi Okai commended Senator Kingibe’s remarkable contributions to the people of FCT, highlighting her efforts in enacting quality legislations, human capital development, women empowerment, and providing basic life-supportive social amenities to her FCT constituents.
Senator Kingibe, while acknowledging the Award, expressed her gratitude to the entire Igala community in FCT, and also pledged her commitment of continued service delivery and good representation to the people of the Federal Capital Territory in her capacity as the Senator representing the people of the federal Capital territory, Abuja.
The Senator also announced her plans to embark on life-transforming programs that will benefit the people of the FCT communities in the next few months from now.
In her appreciation, the FCT lawmaker in the Red Chamber of National Assembly presented fifty units of expensive bronze-plated royal sticks to the traditional kingdom for onward distribution to all the titled chiefs in the FCT Igala chiefdom as well as a generous cash.
