Ex-President Buhari at 82: Northern Senators felicitate, testifies of landmark achievements

As the former President Muhammadu Buhari celebrates his 82nd birthday anniversary on Tuesday, Senators from the northern extraction operating under the aegis of Northern Senators Forum has felicitated with him, saying his age is a milestone of his remarkable life, dedication and service to his fatherland which he has been passionate to see unity and togetherness.

In a statement which was made available to journalists in Abuja by the Chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, said, the former President’s unwavering commitment and leadership qualities has brought about beacon of hope for the country.

The statement partly read: “As we celebrate the special day, we acknowledge for President Buhari’s unwavering commitment to the unity and progress of Nigeria. His leadership has been a beacon of hope, inspiring generations to strive for better future.

“We commend his unshakeable resolve in upholding democratic values, which has strengthened our nation’s institutions and promoted the well-being of all citizens.”

Senators said, Buhari demonstrated exceptional courage, integrity, and selflessness throughout his illustrious career, adding that his contributions to Nigeria’s development, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, security and anti-corruption have been invaluable.

“As Northern Senators Forum, we are honoured to join Nigerians from all walks of life in celebrating former President Muhammadu Buhari’s life and legacy. We pray that this special day marks the beginning of another year filled with good health, happiness, and continued service to our great nation.”
