EFCC uncovers, arrest 25 persons from yahoo training school in Benin
The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have discovered a Yahoo Training School in Benin that trains cybercrime related operations.
In a swoop on them, the Benin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC has arrested 25 suspected internet fraudsters in the centre from the heart of Benin City, capital of Edo State.
The development was contained in a statement by the Commission on Thursday, confirming the arrest and seizure of phones, laptop, vehicles and other digital equipment used by the trainees at the centre.
The EFCC said the suspects arrested at their hideout were triggered by credible intelligence, that indicated the apartment was being used as a Yahoo academy or training school for internet-related fraud and other fraudulent activities.
Items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops and phones.
“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement added.
