Demolition in Kano: I would’ve given Kwankwaso a slap — Ganduje
Frosty relationship between the two former governors of Kano State, Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, deepened on Friday as Ganduje threatened that he would have given Kwankwaso a slap if he had met him in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
Ganduje accused Kwankwaso of being the brain behind the ongoing demolition of many buildings by the newly inaugurated New Nigeria Political Party-led government.
Ganduje addressed State House Correspondents shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday evening.
He said the ongoing demolitions in Kano State did not follow due process and constitute breach of law.
Although Rabiu Kwankwaso ran for and lost the presidential election on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, the party’s candidate, Abba Yusuf, won the Kano State Governorship election.
In what the APC had termed a political backlash, the new state chief executive, in his inauguration speech on May 29, gave a marching order to security agencies in Kano to immediately repossess all public properties believed to have been sold by the Ganduje administration.
