Defence Headquarters concludes late General Bali’s funeral
The funeral service and interment (Military Funeral Rites) of Late General Domkat Yah Bali GCON (Rtd) former Minister of Defence and former Chief of Defence Staff, were held on 28 December in Jos and Langtang Plateau State respectively.
The funeral ended peaceful with the Honourable Minister of Defence Maj Gen Bashir Magashi as the Guest of Honour while the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Abayomi Olonisakin, the Chief Host was also present. The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai was represented by Chief of Policy and Plans (Army) Lt Gen LO Adeosun while other Service Chiefs were duly represented.
The Acting General Officer Commanding 3 Division Brig Gen M Danmadami who read the funeral oration was represented by Comd 53 Signal Bde Brig Gen IP Bindu.
Some retired senior military officers also attended the funeral including; former Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall Jonah Wuyep (Rtd), former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Lt Gen JT Useni (Rtd) to mention but few.
One of the highlights of funeral was the presentation of the National Flag to the Next of Kin of the Deceased General Mrs Ester Bali by the CDS Gen Olonisakin.
