CRP slams Gov Fubara, tells him to leave Wike out of supreme Court defeat

A group under the aegis of Concerned Rivers People (CRP) has criticized Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, urging him to stop involving the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his Supreme Court legal battle.

The group also took a swipe at Ikenga Ugochinyere, describing him as an “impostor” who is now interpreting court judgments for the governor, warning him to “continue progressing in error.”

In a statement signed by Alex Nwogu, the group’s Public Relations Officer, CRP stated:
“Our attention has been drawn to the attempts by some groups and individuals to lampoon the image of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, following the loss of a legal battle at the Supreme Court by the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
“We recall that the battle between Fubara and the 27 lawmakers has been lingering as a result of the appeal filed by Fubara at the apex court.
“Luckily for everybody, he and his lawyers saw the futility of the exercise they had embarked upon and decided to retrace their steps.
“The Appeal was dismissed with cost as punishment to underscore the frivolities of the move in the first place.
“Ugochinyere has now constituted himself into an interpreter of court judgments. A non-lawyer and an impostor.
“Reports reaching us from the apex court indicate that the appeal the governor filed against the lawmakers was either struck out or withdrawn. Either way, it implies that the battle had been fought and won, and the winners in this case are the 27 lawmakers who were duly elected by their constituents to represent them at the Rivers State House of Assembly.
“We urge Fubara and his co-travelers to go home and lick their wounds instead of conscripting some hirelings to twist the facts and malign certain individuals.
“We urge groups such as the Human Rights Writers Association (HURIWA) and the Illegal Opposition Lawmakers Coalition to find something else to do.
“They should leave Wike alone as there is no basis to drag him into what does not concern him.
“We wish to remind them that the truth will always prevail no matter how long it takes,” Nwogu added.
