Those who have become uncomfortable with the governor’s style of leadership are also five House of Representatives members and some notable party stalwarts. Their grouse according to a source close to the happenings in Kano is Ganduje’s handedness in the affairs of the State and the party headed by Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.

The idea of breaking away was mulled by a former governor who at his instance, a meeting was held in the night at his Abuja residence to perfect strategies on how to move away and mainstream their ambition in Kano politics.

Part of the strategies, CAPITAL POST learnt, is to also checkmate excesses of the State party leader.

The Senators and House of Representatives members felt short changed in the recently held Local Government congress as they were said to have lost out. The development has pitched them against the governor, which they have decided at a meeting in Abuja that if their choice becomes unassailable, they would create parallel congress to cause confusion.

The current serving Senators are Kabiru Gaya, Jibrin Barau and Ibrahim Shekarau.
