Businessman, Jim Okolo to partner EU countries to establish arms fabricating factory in Nigeria
A foremost businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Portharcourt Garment Factory, Jim Okolo has met with some attaches of European Countries on the need to establish arms and ammunition fabricating factory in Nigeria.
In a meeting with Col. Michele Devastator, the Italian Defence Attache to the European Union, Okolo lamented the insecurity in Nigeria and sought for the cooperation of the Union in tackling the menace by establishing arms factory that would help government in acquiring weapons.
He said, security is a collective responsibility of all citizens, stressing that Nigerian government was doing its best through security agents, but when there is a factory that produces arms and ammunition, government would be able to surmount insecurity to the barest minimum.
Okolo also sought to partner with the Union in establishing a robust Service uniform industry of international standard, saying that the nation look up to private investors to produce what it needs.
CAPITAL POST recalled that last weekend, the Commandant General of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, expressed satisfaction with the level of production at the multifunctional, world class garment factory in Port Harcourt.
The Commandant General specifically lauded the Chief Executive Officer of the factory for the standard and other technological facilities used in the factory.
He said: “I am impressed with what I have seen here today at Portharcourt Garment Factory Owned By JIMCO Global Concept Limited. There is no doubt, this factory can feed the nation with all the different wears it needs”.
“This is what all Nigerians should do to keep promoting the image of the country. What Hon. Jim has done here shows that we have people with capacity that can make the nation proud”.
He commended the CEO, Hon. Jim Okolo for such creative investment, with emphasis on their capacity and world-class machineries.
Okolo while thanking the CG for his visit assured that the factory will partner with his organisation are have the capacity to produce all it’s hardwares.
According to Okolo, other heads of sister agencies both Military and Paramilitary have visited the Garment factory for inspection. Some of which includes the CG, Federal Fire Service, the Nigeria Police and other security agencies across the country.
