Breaking: Police Council confirms Alkali Baba, Inspector General of Police
The acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali has been confirmed as the Inspector General of Police.

He was confirmed by the
the Police Council meeting which was presided by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja.

Alkali Baba Usman took over from Mohammed Adamu in February, 2021.
News of his confirmation as the substantive IG was announced by the Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, at the end of the council meeting.
The meeting, CAPITAL POST learnt was held at the First Lady Wing of the presidential villa.
The Inspector General of Police, was charged to restore security in the nation.
