The Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been declared winner of the election which was conducted on Saturday March 18, 2023.
His declaration followed the announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Owunare Abraham on Monday.
Sheriff polled 360,234 votes to defeat the Deputy Senate President and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The results indicates that the Governorship candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Ken Pela scored 48,047 to come third, while Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic party amassed, 4,639 votes.
