BREAKING: Over 20 Benue medical students kidnapped on way to Enugu

Over 20 medical and dental students of Benue State origin have been kidnapped while travelling to Enugu on Thursday.

They were kidnapped along with a House Officer by a yet-to-be identified gunmen.

Reports said, the students were drawn from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos, and were travelling for the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students, FECAMDS, holding in Enugu.

They were kidnapped at about 5.30pm having been ambushed in the Otukpo area of Benue State.

The abduction of medical students has been confirmed by the Benue State Police Command on Friday.

The Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, who confirmed to journalists, saying an investigation had been launched into the abduction.

“Yes, the report of kidnapping is true. The report was received around 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and an investigation is ongoing.”
