Governorship Candidates in Rivers protesting on Friday

Governorship candidates contesting March 18 governorship and House of Assemblies elections in Rivers State, on Friday protested to the Police headquarters in Portharcourt, accusing governor Nyesom Wike of intimidation.

The protesting governorship candidates are Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party; Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress; Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord Party and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress.

They accused Wike of ordering security agents to harass and arrest their supporters ahead of Saturday’s election, while they called for the immediate release of those who were arrested within this period.
