BREAKING: Frustrated Civil Servant commits suicide in Kogi [Photos]
A civil servant on suicide mission, Tuesday plunged himself from Meme bridge into deep water to kill himself, leaving a message that he was fed up with life.
While contemplating killing himself, a passerby noticed that the man has a suicide mission while mutering words and he tried to persuade him, but he resisted and briefly explained why he as to kill himself before plunging himself into waters.
The name of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately by our correspondent, but was confirmed that he worked with one of the State Ministry.
At the time CAPITAL POST arrived at the scene, sympathisers were already gathering with no divers to recover his corpse, but his sandals which he left could be seen.
An eye witness who chosed not to reveal his name name said, the man complained of hardship and said, “he could no longer cope with his family, as percentage salary in the last seven years in Kogi has ruined him.
He further explained that the deceased complained of how he will raise money for his children’s school fees now that academic activities have been reopened.
The Meme bridge is a popular bridge constructed by the late Prince Abubakar Audu when he governed Kogi State in the early 90s and is close to Dunamis Church.
