BREAKING: Bowel cancer disease: Ex-Football legend, Pele moved to end-of-life care’ in hospital

Given that that he may no longer survive the bowel cancer disease, the Football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pele has been reportedly moved into the palliative care unit where he is now receiving an ‘end of life care’.

According to a report by Daily Mail, the three times FIFA World Cup winner was moved to the unit is because he is no longer responding to chemotherapy he has been undergoing since last September to treat his bowel cancer.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday, 29th of October 2022, the 82 year old former striker was admitted into the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil after suffering from general swelling and heart failure but the Doctors have decided that he won’t be subjected to invasive tests or treatment.

The ‘End of Life Care’ is a care given to patients who can’t be treated. The care involves giving the patient treatment that will relieve their pain until they pass on.
