Benue Senator, Abba Moro calls for FG’s intervention in barbaric killings by Fulani herders in parts of State
Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro has called on the Federal Government to intervene in what he described as barbaric killings and wanton destruction of lives and properties by Fulani herders in his district.
He said, Apa, Agatu and Otukpo LGAs in his Senatorial District have been under bloody attacks by the marauding herders leading to wanton destruction of lives and property, stressing that these endless attacks must be stopped at all cost.
The lawmaker and Minority leader of the 10th Senate urged Federal and State governments to take urgent steps to nip the barbaric acts in the bud. He says he can no longer guarantee the continued patience of the affected people who have been waiting on government to come to their aid. He says the victims have been pushed to the wall and will resort to self-help if help does not come to them immediately.
The senator condemns, in their entirety, the recent killings in the land, especially the Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu Community, in Agatu LGA. He says the unprovoked attacks which resulted in the gruesome murder of five armless villagers on their farms are unacceptable. He calls on security agents to go after the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to book.
