Bankole advocates for re-election of Ogun state governor, Prince Abiodun

A Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee and the party’s National Leader, Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs), Tolu Bankole has urged all stakeholders to throw their weight behind the re-election of Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

In a statement made available to CAPITAL POST on Saturday, Bankole, emphasised that re-electing the governor for a second term in the March 2023 general election is crucial, considering his administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda that should continue.

Change of Name

According to him, “There are several reasons why Governor Abiodun is unrivaled among the candidates, since he assumed office in 2019, he has led a well structured government with the aim of advancing the lives of Ogun citizens through social reforms in the economy, infrastructure, healthcare, education, social welfare, and the peaceful coexistence of citizens. The overall goal is to bring the maximum benefits to the largest number of people.

“During these three years of his stewardship, Ogun State has witnessed a productive investment in IT for governance as seen in core areas of land administration, finance, employment, education and commerce especially in this post-COVID era, therefore attracting business investors.

“The stride in infrastructural development has been more than impressive. Governor Abiodun has constructed or renovated not less than 562.63km roads across the three senatorial districts including a good number of them at different stages of completion. These include the 5.35km Adatan-Gbonagun road and the 3km Panseke-Adigbe, in Abeokuta, Ogun Central Senatorial District.

“19.2km Atan-Lusada-Agbara road, the 12km Ilaro-Owode road, the 2.4km Oke-Ola road, Imeko, Imasayi-Ayetoro road. Also, the State Government has reconstructed the Odo Afa Road and bridge in Ipokia LGA, all in the Ogun West Senatorial District. Meanwhile, Governor Abiodun in April 2021, commissioned the 10.25km Lusada-Igbesa Road which was constructed by the Ogun Guangdong Free Trade Zone in partnership with the Ogun State Government.

“There is also a 4km Oba Erinwole road, Sagamu and 3.43km Molusi College road, Ijebu-Igbo along with the Ilishan Market Road, 11km Atan-Erunwon Road, Ogbagba Street Road and Ejinrin-Oliwalogbon-Mobalufon-Ibadan Road among others, all in the Ogun East Senatorial District, where some roads have been completed. Others include: Oru-Awa-Ilaporu-Ibadan Road, Fusigboye-Ojofa Street Road and Asafa Oke-Asafa Isale-Ayegun-Ojofa Street Road in Ijebu Ode.

“Others are Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu interchange road, completed Idi-Aba-Elite-Oke Lantoro road, rehabilitated Olokuta road, completed Ijebu Ode -Mojoda -Epe road, completed Osi-Ikola Otta and AIT-RAYPOWER road, construction of 300 housing unit in Kobape, construction of 23 housing unit in Laderin, completed Kuto Bridge in Abeokuta South, construction of fire station at Mowe not to mention the revolution in the health sector across Ogun State.

“In pursuance of his workers’ welfare policy, he gave special attention to the prompt payment of salaries while delivering people-centred projects that directly affect the grassroots.Ogun state under him has paid 6 billion naira backlogs to give pensioners the deserved rest after years of devoted service.

Therefore, their is no alternative to re-electing Governor Abiodun, for Ogun to sustain its peaceful, progressive, and a preferred haven for citizens and investors alike”.

The APC NWC Member further expressed commitment to midwife any mediatory and reconciliatory moves and push for the reelection of Governor Abiodun in the next general elections.

Bankole said “Building Our Future Together” is the cornerstone of the Ogun state governor’s administration in which citizens home and abroad must embrace
