Rotary Club renovates, donates equipment to health centre in Jos Mark Moses
The President of Rotary Club of Naraguta in Jos, Mrs Virginia Jang, says the club has renovated and donated hospital equipment to Dadin Kowa Comprehensive Health Centre, Jos.
Jang said at the official commissioning of the project on Wednesday in Jos that the renovation was done through the club’s maternal and child health project.
Although, she did not disclose the amount of money involved in the project, she explained that the project took millions of naira.
She explained that the club saw that the centre’s maternity and labour wards were in dire need of renovation and major equipment, therefore the club embarked on the project to improve maternal and child health.
She said that the project was done as part of Rotary’s mandate of making a better world and for the enhancement of efficient maternal and child health service delivery.
Similarly, the District Governor of Rotary club of Naraguta, Mr Mike Nwanoshiri during the commissioning of the project, assured the health centre’s management of the club’s assistance.
The Medical Superintendent in charge of the health centre, Dr Alfred Kolade, commended the Rotary club of Naraguta for the laudable gesture which he said would improve efficiency and service delivery.
He called on other associations to emulate the the Rotary Club in impacting lives and making the world better.
Our correspondent reports that the health centre has been repainted, the maternal and labour wards were renovated and demarcated, rewired and potable water was also connected to the wards.
The club also donated medical equipment worth millions of naira, which consist of a generator, an angle lamp, intravenous giving stands, a vacuum delivery assisted pump, a mattress, three baby cots, bedside cupboards, wall cupboards, stepping stools, patient screens and an autoclave.
