Yuletide: Ortom felicitates with Benue people
Governor Samuel Ortom, on behalf of his family and the Government, felicitates Benue people and other Nigerians as the birth of Jesus Christ is being celebrated.
The Governor says though this year’s Christmas is coming at a very difficult time when COVID-19 has adversely affected economies of the world, the period offers Christians the opportunity to draw closer to God and seek His intervention in the affairs of the state and the nation at large.
He states that the second phase of the pandemic has been confirmed by medical experts to be highly contagious and deadlier than the first phase, making it mandatory for everyone to be more careful.
The Governor advises the people to avoid crowded places and observe COVID-19 preventive measures such as wearing of face masks, physical distancing hand washing with soap and the use of sanitizers.
He admonishes Benue people to continue to support Government’s efforts in peace building, according to the teachings of the Lord Jesus.
The Governor restates the commitment of Benue State Government to the rule of law, due process, transparency and accountability.
He says the 2021 Budget which was passed by the Benue State House of Assembly and he signed yesterday focuses on raising the standard of living of the people through economic growth and human capital development.
Governor Ortom reaffirms the present administration’s commitment to the provision of roads, health and school facilities, electrification, water supply and provision of other critical infrastructure in various communities of the state.
He appreciates the entire people of the state, particularly workers for their understanding and the cordial relationship they have with the government.
The Governor prays for hitch-free Christmas celebrations across the state.
