Yuletide: Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner reads riot act to criminals
Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Amienggeme Andrew has declared that the onerous task of protecting lives and properties of citizens during the yuletide season was sacrosanct.
He disclosed that the Police.Command has alongside other security agents have been deployed accordingly in Akwa Ibom State
Accordingly, the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force along with other security agencies in the state to ensure watertight security.
Spokesperson for the Command, SP MacDon Odiko, made this known, Wednesday 23rd December, at Ministry of Information and Strategy Headquarters, during the 2020 Christmas celebration by the Management and Staff of the Ministry.
The Police said, they were aware that Akwa Ibom State was one of the most peaceful State in Nigeria, but wouldn’t take that for granted, hence, the security agencies will do all they could to ensure that, the status remains the same.
He said, the people should be security conscious and observant enough to report any suspicious actions within their enclaves to security agencies nearest to them.
SP Odiko, who is a member of the State Strategic Information Management Committee, expressed surprise that he was celebrated by the Ministry of Information and Strategy along with other staff of the Ministry born in the month of December, thanked the Management for the honour done him.
“I have never been celebrated this way before. I am so grateful to the Ministry and in particular the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong for this laudable initiative which has given me a sense of belonging and a feeling of being loved by the people of Akwa Ibom State”, the PPRO said.
“Through this gesture, Comrade Ini Ememobong has brewed love among people and drawn them closer to government. For celebrating me, celebrations will also come your way”, Odiko emphasized.
He extolled the visionary leader style of Comrade Ini Ememobong and his achievements since assumption of office in August 2020, adding that, the changes brought to the Ministry and indeed the Information machinery of government are highly commendable.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong had said, the 2020 Christmas celebration organised for staff of the Ministry was in line with the spirit of the season, which entails the sharing of love, goodwill and gifts amongst loved ones and friends.
He expressed gratitude to the Management and staff of the Ministry for their support and cooperation since his assumption of office which has contributed immensely to the successful running of the Ministry and the furtherance of the Completion Agenda of the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration.
