To ensure smooth and crime free Yuletide in Niger State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Niger State, has deployed a total of 1255 personnel to places of worships.
The deployment of the personnel was aimed at securing the place of worships across the state during, before, and after the festive period.
Deploying men and officers at the command headquarters along David Mark Road in Minna Tuesday, the state commandant of the Corps, in Niger State, Mr Haruna Bala Zurmi, charged them to exhibit high degree of professionalism in the discharge of their duty at all times.
He said the armed squad unit of the command would be deployed to worship centres, parks and all entry points to the State capital to forestall any possible break down of law and order during the festive periods in the State.
He called on Christian faithful in Niger State to use the Holy period to pray for the peaceful co-existence of the country at large
While calling on the general public in the state to continue to be law abiding at all times, Commandant Bala Zurmi told them to report any suspicious movement in their midst to appropriate security agencies for prompt action.
He then advised members of the public in the State to continue to adhere strictly to the new wave of COVID-19 protocol in the Sqastate.
