APC suspends Rotimi Amaechi from party
The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State deepened late Monday as the Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has been suspended from the party.
Amaechi’s suspension followed the suspension of Senator Magnus Abe, Igo Aguma, Livingstone Wechie, Wogu Boms and all caretaker committee leaders inaugurated by Aguma over the weekend.
Rivers State APC has been in protracted crisis by the two major personalities, the former governor of Rivers State and now Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Magnus Abe.
But in a statement by Igo Aguma of Senator Magnus Abe’s camp which was signed by his Media Adviser, Livingstone Wechie, suspended Rotimi Amaechi.
The suspension is coming ahead of preparations for the 2023 general election.
Magnus Abe’s camp in the statement also disclosed that the APC had written to the Rivers State Electoral Commission (RISIEC) to declare its readiness to partake in the forthcoming local government election in the state.
