Niger Delta Physically challenged takes protest NASS
The National Assembly on Thursday was besieged with protests by the physically challenged from the Niger Delta region, alleging marginalisation.
The physically challenged haven’t given a prior notice, hence, they took the security agents at the National Assembly by surprise.
They expressed anger that their representatives at the upper and lower chambers in the National Assembly was not representing them well.
They forced themselves into the complex of the National Assembly amid security resistance at the first and second gate of the complex.
Upon entry into the complex, security aides of the Senate President, quickly moved the vehicles away from the entrance of the new building.
The spokesperson for the physically challenged persons, Amos Etim, while addressing journalists upon arrival into the complex insisted that their representatives must recognise their rights.
They claimed that they were being denied their rights despite being educated.
One of them fainted and was being attended as at the time of filing the report.
