The Interim Committee of Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) has appealed to the Igala community, particularly those enlisted to become members of the board of Trustees of ICDA to tread with caution and disregard all activities of the erstwhile ICDA President, Sadiq Abubakar Amodu, whose executive committee was removed by the Board of Trustees months back.

The appeal was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Wednesday and signed by interim committee chairman and his secretary, Chief Oyibo Samuel and Bar William Ameh respectively.

Change of Name

The interim committee noted that the activities of Sadiq Amodu led defunct ICDA executive created the opportunity for the association to come under serious internal wranglings, and which drew the attention of the Late Royal monarch of Igala Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Micheal Idakwo Ameh II who joined his ancestors recently.

Stressing that some of the enlisted Board members by defunct Sadiq led ICDA are being held in a high esteem that will be valuable for Igala kingdom, the interim committee emphasised that the concerned should not allow themselves to be dragged in the mud of controversy of the dust raised by the disbanded ICDA executive committee .

However, the concerned and members of the public should note that the board of Trustees of ICDA is a registered body; and “it’s in the best interest of the Igala nation to do things right and avoid public ridicule and disrepute” that will smear the name of Igala nation deeper in the oasis of shame.

Meanwhile, the interim committee stated that the body is on course with assignment given to it, and at the appropriate time ,it will submit its report for an enduring ICDA that will lift up Igala nation.
