Breaking: NDDC acting MD Pondei sacked as Buhari appoints interim NDDC administrator
The acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei, been sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement late Saturday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, another person has been appointed as NDDC’s interim administrator.
Adesina said, the president has approved Effiong Awa, acting executive director of finance and administration of the commission as the new head of the agency.
Adesina said Akwa would be in charge of the agency until the completion of the forensic audit ordered by the president.
“President Buhari approves interim administrator for the NDDC. He is Mr Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, who is to assume headship till completion of the forensic audit,” the statement read.
The NDDC has been deepened in endless controversy with the Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio alledgedly covering up.
