The Chairman Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress, Nasarawa State chapter, Mr. John Mamman has been elected as President of Gwandara Development Educational and Cultural Associations alongside the State Chairman of Universal Basic Education, Com. Musa Dan Zumi as Vice President.
Our correspondent reports that the election of Mr. Mamman came few days after his appointment as APC caretaker committee at a stakeholders meeting held at Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet hall of Government House, Lafia.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, the outgoing Chairman of GWADECA, who is also chairman, State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Musa Dangana, expressed gratitude to God for opportunity given to him and his team to have served.
He.said, the objective of the association is to bring all members under one umbrella with a view to unite them and urge all to speak with one voice.
According to him, in the past, there was several attempts to conduct election, but due to some challenges, it could not hold untill this time.
Dangana enumerated some achievements recorded during his leadership which includes, schools, hospitals, roads among other successes.
He commended the electoral committee for their tireless efforts to ensure free, fair and credible election which has ushered new leadership.
He called for change of attitude towards attending meetings once invitation was extended to members.
“Now there is ongoing constitutional review of the association, I therefore call on you, the new leadership to participate fully in the process.
