Breaking: Embattled Maina faints in Court
The erstwhile Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Taskforce Team, Abdulrasheed Maina has fainted in court.
He fainted at exactly 10.05am while those who sat with him tried to revive him.
Maina slumped before the trial Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Immediately the 12 – count charges was read to him, alongside his firm, Common Input Property and Investment Limited by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he fainted.
His counsel, Anayo Adibe was made submissions before Justice Okon Abang handling his trial.
Before Maina slumped, his counsel was praying the court for an adjournment to enable him get record of the proceedings of the court to enable him prepare for the no case submission he intends to file on behalf of his client.
Following the development, the court had to rise abruptly to enable officials of the Correctional Service and relations of the former pension boss to attend to him.
