Coronavirus: Details of Mohammed Atiku’s foreign trip emerge
Details of Mohammed Atiku’s foreign visits on Monday emerged following speculation that he was in a Club in Abuja and also appeared for jumat prayers.
In a statement by Mr. Paul Ibe, the Media Adviser to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, he said though Mohammed Atiku tested positive to COVID-19 which was confirmed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the victim never attended club or Jumat prayers since his arrival from Europe on 17th March, 2020.
“The case neither attended the Friday Jumu’a prayers nor any social gathering until his evacuation to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital on the 20th where he is being treated and managed.”
“We urge members of the public to disregard the perfidious information that the case accessed open location.
“He was not at Play Lounge nor any other club in Abuja as being mischievously bandied about.
“The case neither attended the Friday Jumu’a prayers nor any social gathering until his evacuation to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital on the 20th where he is being treated and managed.”
“The clinical case returned to the country on 17th March via Switzerland from some business engagements in France and Switzerland.
“He attended a private meeting of six (6) persons same day in Lagos, stayed in his private house for the night and took an Aero 5.20pm flight to Abuja on the 18th.
“The case did not travel with his family or any other but travelled alone by Emirates Airline.
“The case wore face mask as a precautionary measure since his arrival in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Muhammed, according to a press statement from the state’s house will be in self-isolation, having met and shaken hands with Mohammed Atiku Abubakar.
“Our Governor Bala Mohammed in self isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s Son.
His father and former Presidential candidate of the Peoples that Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar tweeted in the early hours on Monday tha, “his son was tested positive to Coronavirus and.has been moved to Special Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
