Breaking: Former Ghaianian President, Jerry Rawlings is dead

Former President of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings who ruled between 1981 and 2001 is.dead.

J.J Rawlings as he is fondly called was born on 22nd June, 1947, but died on Thursday at the age of 74, according to BBC.

Reports said he died of COVID-19 while being treated at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Ghaianian were on Thursday thrown into mourning upon hearing of his death which occured less than a month to the 2020 Ghana presidential election.

He was said to be a strong supporter of former President John Mahama for his re-election on 7th December, 2020.
