The Nigeria Integrity Movement (NIM), has condemned in strong terms the massacre of protesters in Lekki, Lagos, but exonerated Brigadier General Francis Ogbaje Omata as directed the shooting of protesters.

The group urged Nigerians to desist from insinuations that Brigadier Omata was culpable in the attack, but stressed that
the Chief of Army Staff and President Muhammadu Buhari should be held responsible over the crisis.

A statement issued by Kaleijaye Ayikulola on behalf of the movement, which was obtained by CAPITAL POST in Abuja, insisted that the ongoing operation crocodile smile V1 was not the contraption of the serving Militaty officers, including Brigadier General Francis Ogbaje Omata who is on mission to defend Nigeria.

The movement maintained that it is on record that the Military had carried out various operations across the country, including ‘operation Lafiya Dole’, Operation ‘Akpe Ayatuma’, Operation ‘Python Dance’, and ‘Operation Whirl Stroke’, ‘Operation Silent Heat’, ‘Operation Safe Haven’, ‘Operation Sahel Sanity’, as well as ‘Hadarin Daji’, which include many other minor and major operations were not the contraption of the officers involved, but a directive of C in C and the Chief of Army staff.

He opined that many of these officers obey the instructions of their boss, superiors and commanders, and that Brigadier General Francis Ogbaje Omata could not be an exception.

NIM says Brigadier Omata who has just been transferred to Lagos has served many years in Borno State fighting the Boko Haram ravaged areas of the North- East, but now posted to Lagos.

Kaleijaye ask the Militaty to rescind further actions on the protesters, but insulate any Military instructions carried out as not a personal decision.
