How Federal lawmaker facilitated rehabilitation of Otukpo-Enugu road

Member representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Blessing Onuh has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of Otukpo-Enugu road because of its strategic importance to the zone.

The female lawmaker who is the Vice Chairman of House Committee on the Federal Capital Territory said she facilitated the reconstruction of federal road leading through Otukpo to Enugu to the eastern region disclosing that the contractors were expected to commence work on Friday 16th October, 2020

In a statement obtained by CAPITAL POST, Chairman of G4 Media International, Emmanuel Ondaje confirmed that work has actually started, but further explained that Hon. Blessing Onuh intensely lobbied for the federal road which was abandoned for quite sometime now.

“Our finding made it clear to us that the member, Lady Blessing Onuh play a major role in bringing the dream come true of this abandoned road project.

“The reconstruction of the road started from the Enugu round about in Otukpo where clearing and grading began.”

“We visited the site and saw the contractors and we gathered that if not with the pressure and lobbying of Reps. Blessing Onuh, the project wouldn’t have seen the light of the day.

According to the statement, the project would enhance security of the region and the community at large, as it will pave way for the security, development and surveillance in the area as well fastracki say ang means of transportation among regions.

The federal road linking Otukpo to Enugu serves as a major source of transportation of goods particularly agricultural products to the South East and Southsouth Nigeria.
